I was thinking the same as con_girl: viewed from the top or the bottom? (And, like you, I decided "from the top" made the most sense.)

Also, I wonder if handedness is a correlation. Lately I've been deliberately trying to do (non-critical) things with my left that I normally do with my right (as Bruce Lee suggested). For the last month, that's primarily been cleaning the litter box.

Yeah, we want to know the handedness of your turners. I am right handed and turned counter, my mom, (didn't taken the poll,) is left handed and turned clockwise.

Hunh. I'm right hand-dominant (although fairly ambidextrous, and left-eye dominant), turned counterclockwise.

Given that the poll results have been pretty solidly 50-50 all the way through, and only about 10% of people are left-handed, I don't think handedness is related.
