Yeah, the show was all the rage in my freshman dorm. I think there were two half-hour reruns in an hour every day, which we'd gather to watch. I loved it, but haven't tried to watch it since. I think it was much later seasons than I see on youtube, though.

That scene you mentioned is nice, except, as you say, the confusion between transsexuality and homosexuality. I mean WHAT? How could they actually have been that stupid? It makes no sense (and made the scene unwatchable for me).

Well, the context is that he wants to get a sex change so he can continue his relationship with his famous-football-player boyfriend, so there's at least a small bit of explanation. When the football player drops him, he drops the plan (and also tries to kill himself, in a scene that was incredibly moving, but jarringly out of place in a "spoof").

Ohhhhh, right I remember now. Yes, it's not that he wanted to be a woman, really, it's just that he was gay and caught in an insane soap opera parody plotline.
