I got back an hour ago from a madcap trip to New York to see my favourite band of all time, The Cat Empire. I have a fondness for chronological echos, which this one turned out to be, in some respects: the first time I saw them was also a madcap overnight dash to New York, and I also stayed at dr_memory and missionista's place (that was the night I met dr_memory, actually). how big does a band have to get before they stop reminding the audience of the band name at the beginning and end of every show?

lol, I don't know, but U2 still introduce each member at some point during their sets and I don't know why. I guess it's just habit and maybe not wanting to forget they started out as a struggling band.

I can also imagine that it helps the two less-well-known band members feel like it's not just the "Edge and Bono Show".

I've always been more attracted to Larry, the drummer, but I've never met anyone into Adam, so yeah, I guess it gives them a chance to shine a bit.

I swear you make these bands up to confuse those of us over 40. :-)

(I see this particular one's only been around this decade, which makes me feel better.)
