I was going to say, that does seem a lot better than running for elective office, which you have to do over again every few years.

that reminded me of an interview at Mitre actually.

ending with "so, why the fuck should we hire you?"

Huh. That doesn't exactly fit with my mental image of Mitre, which is of course colored by the fact that my father worked there for 25+ years.

they called me too. a committee interview as well. my answer was basically polite yet snarky. didn't get hired. so it goes. i'm not sure i wanted to be hired there actually, at the time, or at least that group, given the attitude.
