I would suggest that you try kayak.com or cheapoair.com instead of priceline. Also if you are willing to fly into Frankfurt and to take the train, think about flying into Brussels and taking the train, I think it might be faster. Sadly, people I know in Amsterdam are away in July, but for a free place to stay couchsurfing is the way to go.
