Yeah, I was split on this too. It had a good premise: creepy dolls with a sinister past. But then they somehow screwed that up with Donny New Kid and horrible acting. And the guy's dad was "the ultimate doll" and his new stepmom was the old lady? Why go through such an elaborote process to kill the guy when it could have happened when he brought back chinese food to his wife. Weird.
yeah, Donny New Kid did bug me. He really couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag if his life depended on it. He would be one of the parts of the film that "went to cheesy town". I did like how he died though.
I liked the "alternate" ending for the film which was better than the theatrical ending. It still didn't really explain the whole "step-mom's evil, yer dad's a puppet" thing.
