Okay, well, I did see the whole sickness thing coming, although you very nearly weaseled some optimism out of me with that pneumonia deal. :| Very well-done; the whole process of getting Urahara to Mayuri's was quite intricate, plus I didn't at all expect the twist with the "cure" being simply a hold-over--since it was rather bothering me that Ryuuken had gotten the cure but had not kept some of it to analyze, at least, JUST IN CASE (as long as Mayuri was alive, at any rate).

Mayuri's rationale for releasing the virus in the first place was also rather impressive, and not quite what I expected, either. :)

You've definitely built an exquisite AU here, and gotten me addicted to the pairing rather badly. >: ♥ I'm def looking forward to the next 2 chapters--especially since we have yet to hear the second condition Mayuri imposed. I'm speculating on what it is, but for once I really don't know where to start, so bravo. 8D You've managed to stump me on this one.

The sickness thing was inevitable. XD I had the hardest time trying to figure out how to get Ishida sick with the same virus again without it being too obvious or so simple as to have Mayuri simply infect him with it again.

I'm glad you find it still believable. :D I thought that Mayuri wasn't quite the type to be all about revenge and more about doing things for his own morbid curiosity. XD

Hee~ The pairing latched onto me and wouldn't leave me alone. I doubt it will even after finishing this fic. Ahaha. All I can say about the next chapter is: be prepared for angst. 8D
