Harry Potter & The Angsty-Wangsty Fandom

So yes, Warner Bros. has made the decision to move back the release of Half-Blood Prince. The general consensus of opinion seems to be that the cause of this delay is the proximity of the original release date to that of the film adapatation of Twilight. There has been an uproar of complaints, several threats of a petition campaign, and, at least ( Read more... )

Huh. Well, think they just made the announcement within the last day or so, so I would imagine it might take at least the rest of the weekend to scurry around and change all the previews reels? Movie theater staff aren't exactly renowned for their speed and efficiency...

You're going to love this then - people have been so pissed off with the latest book, they are taking the book BACK! Apparently Stephanie didn't stay true to her characters. So people are really complaining.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA! See, since I follow a couple of romance novel review blogs, I've seen a little of that, as well as friend complaints on LJ, but thus far no one has said they planned to return it. That is classic. I wonder if they've been successful? There are a few books over the years I wish I had been able to return (*ahem* I'm looking your way, DaVinci Code!).

I'm *dying* to see the three movies you mentioned - The Duchess, Young Victoria, and Australia. And some films don't even get released in the theater, like Penelope!

I did manage to catch Penelope in the theater, but it was one of those 'blink and you missed it runs' -- even in the local art house theater it only played a week! I think they sat on it too long, and then didn't know what to do with it. It's a pity; it's such a delightful film, if they had given it proper distribution I think it would have done respectibly well.

It's on my list of DVDs to buy! I want to see it - it looks really cute! Too bad it didn't get more of a chance in the theater!

Wow, she really does have a Sarah Brightman in POTO thing going on in that second picture.

Doesn't she though? Now I want someone to make a Phantom/HP filk.

(HBC is so totally awesome. I spent all of Merlin fangirling her.)

Oh gods, I haven't seen that since it was originally aired on television. I remember it being dreadful, except for HBC and Miranda Richardson.

As for Snape's copy of WH, I wouldn't worry about him defacing the book. My theory is that he cast a spell on it to change the names, but only when he reads it! That way he doesn't have to worry about anyone else finding out :D
