In light of the utterly depressing announcement regarding the retirement of The White Stripes I've been in kind of a funk. Jack White is one of my few famous crushes, and his swoonworthy guitar work in his original outing always made for a perfect soundtrack to any occasion.

[The call comes in about half an hour after the entry went up, and on the other end of the line, Calliope patiently listens to the trills of the phone dialing. It's really a nice sound, actually.]

[On Euterpe's end, the phone plays 'Hallelujah', the ring tone she set aside for her older sibling. Picking it up, she smiles slightly as she answers.]

Hey, is this the 'please be careful little sister' call?

[There's a laugh.] No, this is the 'how is my little sister feeling' call. But now that you mention it...

[Sighing can be heard.] Oh, my bad. I'm alright, just a bit down and grumpy. I haven't even opened the wine yet.
