Give 'em Hell!

My hero growing up was a strong woman. She knew what she wanted, and she wasn’t afraid to go get it. She was refined and fashionable. She had attitude, brains, and beauty. She was talented, and keen to share that talent with the world. She was confident and didn’t take crap from anyone.

I am, of course, talking about Miss PiggyNow, don’t get me ( Read more... )

Whooo, I'm glad you liked it!

Gonzo's got a lot of charm! I think it's kind of funny that he's so very relatable, precisely because he's such an oddball. We all feel like exiles and weirdos and outcasts at times, and Gonzo is the ultimate individual, and he's not afraid to be sad about that sometimes, nor to be all delightfully strange (those acts with Camilla, though... man. I just don't know).

No matter how often Piggy might have deserved it, Kermit never shot her out of a cannon, though. ;)

I always liked both of them, but I'm afraid I'm more familiar with the animated baby muppets than the original show. I can't remember now who was my favorite as a kid; I know it was either Miss Piggy or Kermit. Kermit is my favorite now. :)

I always liked the Muppet Babies show - it was so freaking surreal, and they were such independent little critters. I don't remember much about the dynamic between the characters, though, just weird stuff like how they would open doors and find strange things behind them (like live action tv scenes or such).

This spoke to me. I never had the same appreciation for Miss Piggy that you did as a child (I have a fondness for Beaker and all his meeping), but I remember realizing I'd become a Kermit.

It doesn't have to be permanent. If you want to be a force of nature, go out and do it. Or at least try your best.

Fuck everyone who says you can't. :D

I'm glad to hear it resonated with you too! And ohhh Beeker! Most. Abused. Lab Assistant. EVAR. But he was fabulous with all his meeping and explosions.

I've been trying for a while to be more assertive. I find that it's very hard to break out of patterns, but that little baby steps help - I don't apologize nearly so often, for instance, which feels incredibly nice. I hadn't realized how much I'd internalized those apologies, even when I was just doing it to express that I had sympathy (rather than being at fault) or to smooth things over.

I love The Muppets, but I never really compared myself to one. I'm sure that I share traits with Kermit, and I absolutely love Animal, but if I had to pin it down, I probably am most like Scooter. Behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly, but almost forgotten by everyone around me. I like it that way though.

Still, Animal? My all time favorite. :D

Animal is fabulous fun. I love how playing the drums makes him so HAPPY. Also, violent. ;)
