Of course this belongs here! :) Come now, Shakespeare is iconic enough to count as myth in my book...

I really liked this. This was sort of like the ravishment scenes in romance novels, where you know it would really suck if your lover did some of those things in real life, but damn! is it hot in fantasy. Except it was better written than the average romance novel, and hotter.

Some bits I really loved: the part where he says he will command public obedience and she promises him exactly that and no more; the sentence about "The wanton thing...it will happen again", and the last two sentences, foreshadowing the whole story.

I can also totally see the Bard approving of this, as he did rather love plots about headstrong women and the men who tame them.

I enjoyed reading this and it stayed with me - kept popping into my head at odd moments. I always hated the play, mainly because I felt the main characters were insufficiently developed - we get very little idea of where they were coming from, which might make for good high school discussion lessons/essays, but to my mind undermines the story. You've tackled that, and in a really new and interesting way. One wonders what the bard would have done in a world of fanfic...with instant feedback, too! Thank you!
