After several unsuccessful attempts at flight and a few wrong turns, Grace arrives at the house.
She eyes the door a bit and reaches to touch it. Gods all bless, she'd forgotten that if a Paladin could not open a door, for her to do it physically would be impossible. She looks up at the handle. As she does so, part of the door melts away beneath her touch.]
Paladin, if you are able to hear me, step away from the door.
[She too steps back and takes aim, drawing a single dagger. With a practiced whipping motion, acid explodes from the end and soars toward the target.
Her eyes glimmer. This is how it was supposed to work. A pity the man - Stoneface? - couldn't see how much control she had. Except for that one mistake in the middle where the dirt was shoved away from her very harshly. But everyone made mistakes. Overall, Grace considered it rather successful.
In a minute and half or so, a nice doorway is formed from repeated acid spells.]
[Who knows why, but it seems the fairy transformation did wonders to his hearing--despite Grace's voice being fairy-level, (if louder than perhaps would be expected), he could make out her calling without much difficulty.
Paladin answered, but seemed to be drowned out by a...sort of hissing, sizzling sound? What was that, and why did he have a sinking feeling? Oh, nevermind. He could handle that later. There was Grace's voice again, clearer this time.]
I'm in the back left room, [he called to her, fairly confident she could hear him.]
[Grace hears something faint. Somewhere. She rubs her forehead. This was not her forte. Admittedly, melting a doorway into the door so she could get in was vastly more familiar.
She looks around. Had the voice said 'Back room'? She goes to the back and looks left, then right. Then left again. Then right again.]
I'll just take a left and if there's another passage, take another left. This shouldn't be too hard.
[She stops in front of the door.]
If you are indeed behind this door, please take a step back.
[And she fires one spell at the door, melting a small circle of the door away. Certainly not enough to penetrate the entire door. Another murmur, aiming with a dagger, and another spell slammed into it.]
[Well. Apparently the uptick in hearing wasn't affecting everyone--fortunately, though, she had at least guessed correctly.
Step back from the door? Was she going to knock it down? ...How? No--she couldn't have meant that; if the doors were being knocked down he would have heard that.
Still, just to be safe, he fluttered back to the table, sitting atop his journal and watching his door with some trepidation.]
[Eternity had noted the correspondence in Paladin's entry. Grace. He doesn't like her after their short-lived meeting after the fire. It'd be nice to meet again, he decided.
So he flew back home, noting the damage to the entrance of their house and following afterward, heading toward Paladin's room, where he finally found the two.
And then he waits for the right (meaning stupidly dramatic) moment to interrupt the two.]
[...She was blasting holes in the doors. Paladin sighed. This would be so enjoyable to explain to Reed--or Eternity, for that matter.
Nevertheless, he could see her peering around for him, and the important part was that she was helping him. Buzzing his wings, he flew off the table and came to the hole in the door, hovering somewhat gracelessly (he'd only had wings for the past hour or so).]
"Thank you! ...Grace, correct?" [He'd spoken with Grace before, but this was his first time meeting her face to face.]
[Grace was rather preoccupied with the situation in front of her to take much note of the silver-haired fairy standing nearby.]
Please step back and I will continue. It would be a shame to injure you during a rescue attempt.
[She gives him something of a command, softly, as if the threat of an acid orb to the face was enough to ensure his obedience. And so she fires another volley of acid, clearing away enough to climb through, perhaps. If one were to squeeze.]
[Obediently Paladin flitted away, above the hole, watching as she continued to widen it.]
That should be enough. [When there was a pause, he carefully began the process of getting into the hole--not as easy as it looked, maintaining the hover while trying to slip inside--and froze halfway through when he heard Eternity's voice. Already time to explain, it seemed.]
Eterni...ty? [Oh. He'd been transformed as well? Somehow, the idea surprised Paladin--though he did look significantly less intimidating with height measured in inches and the transparent wings growing from his back.]
[Grace steps back to allow him to exit. Her body tenses as she turns to face the man. The dagger she had used as a sort of conduit is still out.]
You realize it's quite rude to sneak up on a lady. Certainly a gentleman of your caliber would be learned enough to realize I was attempting to aid your friend here in being removed from his prison.
[She awards him a sickeningly chill smile. She examines her dagger, an air of cockiness and pride that would make a peacock feel inadequate.]
[So Eternity and Grace knew each other? That might make it easier...or maybe not. They knew each other, but the relationship was clearly anything but friendly.]
She came because I asked her to, Eternity--and I can repair the doors later. [He sounded slightly nervous, if only because the idea of breaking up a fight between his brother and a woman who could generate acid at will could not appeal to him less.]
If you noticed property damage in your home, you wouldn't investigate it yourself? I hadn't expected to find such a proper young lady as yourself the cause of it.
[Now turning to Paladin and completely blowing Grace off.]
You couldn't wait for or request assistance from someone unaffected by this recent event? It would've caused less damage.
[Well, this was heading nowhere and fast. At least Grace had sheathed her dagger?] I don't know what quarrel you have with each other, but I don't think this is either the time or the place--
[Wince. Eternity had a point there, and Paladin didn't really have a response to that.] ...Even so, it can be repaired. [It was a weak answer and he knew it.]

I sincerely hope you have not been injured.

Are you atop a table, Sir Paladin?

You realize it's quite rude to damage other people's property... right? [A mocking and amused tone.]

I would've come earlier, but it would've been rude to interrupt your written conversations.

Certainly, it would have been rude, but I fail to see how this sort of interruption is any less so.
[If her voice could possibly be any more patronizing and sarcastic, it was.]
