Has anyone seen Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy yet? Like Oprah's presentation of Their Eyes Were Watching G-d, I'm thinking I'm gonna sit this one out and pretend it never happened. I love Mos Def, but I'm too scared. Surely they fucked it up didn't do it justice?

movies, books

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only black woman in America that intentionally missed Oprah's presentation of Their Eyes Were Watching G-d. I just knew that anything that came after "Oprah Winfrey presents" wouldn't be a good thing. I still haven't gotten over what she did to Beloved.

You know, I like Oprah all right, but she really needs to quit, you know, just stop the madness! Halle Berry as Janie??? As if!!! Oh well, at least she brought the book to a wider audience... I guess... :/

Nope and don't really plan on it. The previews make my eyes hurt. I'm not a sci fi fan at all, especially not something that complicated.

as a friend put it, TIWWG Oprah-style had, "too many shots of Halle Berry in a low-cut dress just being Halle Berry in a low-cut dress." But I think I wanna brave Hitchiker's at the cheap theatre. I think the choice of the dude from The Office was bang on. I'll let you know.

Please do. And isn't that true of most of her movies? I think she's extremely overrated.
