My Books this year, and my Book Boy crushes......

Oct 27, 2012 23:49

I decided to share my reading list of this year with you.
I was hoping to be on more than 23 (28 if you count the ones I read twice in a row) by now, but when I was unwell for a couple of months, I read only fanfiction (and a lot of it), which unfortunately doesn't count!

Have Read So Far In 2012

Why doesn't fanfic count? Of course, it counts!
So - what kind did you read?
Oh - and I added you on goodreads! Hey, and I saw the pics of you with Judy at the Adam Lambert concert! You were looking so great. :)

Well, I can't really add fanfiction to my goodreads list ;-)
When I was sick I read a lot of Harry/Louis (1D), Niall/Liam (1D), Stiles/Derek (teen wolf) and some Adam/Tommy Joe. (yes, all slash. Are you surprised? lol)

I added you back on goodreads!! I have a m/m bookshelf that is well worth checking out ;-)

Thanks. I'm still waiting to see a photo of your gorgeous self Connor ;-)

Did you see my post from the Adam concert or Judy's?
Mine is here...

I wish I could get into romance books because there are a lot of good ones, but I just can't stand romance.

I used to read nothing but paranormal. Every book I read had vampires, werewolves, ghosts or something. It's only last year that I started reading contemporary.
I read that many paranormal books that they all started blending together and I needed a break.
When I was sick I got into the teen wolf fanfiction, and that's kind of given me back my love for the paranormal stuff. I started re-reading Shiver (werewolves) again last night.

As for the romance, I mainly read YA.
I found that I really love Sarah Dessen. Hers are so easy to read, and I get really invested in the characters.
A good way to start getting into this side of things might be to start with the edgy ones. Troubled teens like in Perfect Chemistry (and it's sequels), Some girls are, and Pushing Limits.

What sort of stuff do you usually read.

I tend to read a lot! It relaxes me.
It's hard, because I want to spend my spare time on the computer catching up on fandom and stuff, but at the same time, there are SO MANY great books to read :-)

Eeee... ten icon ;-)

I love to read and wish I could spend more time doing it... whether it be more books or more fanfic. But like you, I am forever torn between spending time reading or spending time catching up on fandom stuff haha AND also finding time to watch the shows I like to watch and work on my music videos. There is just not enough time in the day! I really wish I didn't need to sleep some times :)

Oooh, I like your Ten icon :)

I hardly ever read regular books anymore, I mostly just read fanfic, but I did read The Fault in Our Stars and I loved it! It will make you cry but it's a beautiful book.

Maybe you could rec my story on one of your posts? ;)

The Fault in the Stars has been on my to-read list for quite a while, but because I've heard it's a bit heartbreaking, I've been putting it off. I have so many things making me cry already! lol ;-)

Have you read The Mortal Instruments series? City of Bones is the first.
Also, Infernal Devices series!
They are both by Cassandra Clare, and are AWESOME!!!

I keep meaning to do a fic rec post of the stuff I read while I was sick, and I will eventually get around to it. Yours will definitely be on it!!!
