No, your parents did not create you in the sense that they fashioned every aspect of your being.

With machines, we are the designers and creators of their existence.

What do you think about neural networks that learn on their own. We create the basic hardware and some simple instructions, then we let them loose in the environment, interact with them and give them information, much like raising children. So, in that sense, we do not fashion every aspect of their existence; they are active participants.

Point is, they're still not living, organic beings. While they may have independent thought, in the end we still fashioned their root existence.
