Yeah yeah, I know. Abandoned buildings are an art school freshman phase. But dude, those colors! So pretty!

PCPI, the photo studio I'm a member of (in case you haven't been paying attention), is located directly across American Street from the crumbling, vaulted remains of the Ortlieb's Brewery.

A bunch of us squoze under the fence during a group workshop on using Holga cameras. You'll see the resulting pics later. But for now, there's these companion digital shots, and believe you me, it would be insanely difficult to get this kind of clarity from a Holga.

This is actually the second floor. A bunch of grass is growing on piles of mold and rust.

Co-photog Gabby ventures near the window.

Lead paint peels from the steel structure while one of the other workshop participates frames a shot in the background.

Still second floor. Yes, it contained grass the size of a small lawn and a puddle the size of a minor pond.

Non-trendy exposed duct work.

Moss, sans Kate.

It's a third floor light visible through a hole in the second floor ceiling. But it also reminds me of either HAL 9000 or the cover of LCD Soundsystem's Sound of Silver.

Um, guess somebody with a penchant for colored, fluffy cardboard was squatting here?

First floor lake reflection.

Second floor ceiling two reveals the splintering floorboards of the third level. And yet I went up.

Because a tree was growing in the roof, er, "courtyard."

More pretty graffiti and colors.

More evidence of squatting.

mrfigurine discovers cool, ornate, well-done graffiti and spray-paint stencil work behind a fenced-in cage.

I walked across this stuff. In shorts. Thank god I was on antibiotics from an unrelated ailment.
