Work Ethic

I've been meaning to have a little talk with the new cashier and try to set him straight before he ends up getting fired, but most of his problems can't really be corrected by me. I tried giving him a few more pointers today but you can see him immediately tune out, just staring back blankly with his mouth open. But I guess I tried. I won't really ( Read more... )

We're getting pretty close to that, which is why I needed to have a chat with him. But we're all pretty fed up with him so it's probably just a matter of time.

Sadly, that's something far too common. Especially with cashier jobs.

And people assume it's better to say they never had a job than admit that they got fired before. And so many assume that because to them the job isn't a big deal, especially with summer jobs, that the employer also doesn't see it as a big deal.

I'd say that at my current work place, 4 out of 5 cashiers don't make it past the first 2 weeks.
