Oh my God, The Gunslinger by Stephen King?!?! I love that book! I could bring my graphic novel that Antoine gave me for Christmas! I could read the graphic novel after re-reading the novel and freak out about how it's all inter-connected!
I couldn't believe people hadn't read it! It's definitely my favorite Stephen King and I love seeing all the references in other books. I'm excited to read it again because when I finished the final one I immedietely thought, "Oh great, now I'm going to have to read them all, all over again!"
I will assume that you mean the 9th, as that is the Sunday.
But yeah! OMG, I know! There are so many references to it everywhere! In fact, an anime series we watched last semester in Club (called Black Lagoon, it's so awesome, I love it) had a couple of episodes titled "The Gunslinger" and "The Dark Tower." When shit started going down, they showed a television screen with a reporter - NAMED JAKE CHAMBERS. I freaked out, but nobody else got it.
WTF, now I feel like a bad person because I remember that I've only read the first three books of The Dark Tower, while the fourth one sits on one of my shelves....glaring at me.
Did you know that Westfield Comics is having another midnight release party for the second Dark Tower series, at midnight on March 4?
But yeah. I love The Gunslinger, although I really loved Stephen King's long novel The Stand, too. I'm not sure which I like more, but The Dark Tower and The Stand are definitely my favorites by him.
