I haven't had much to say lately, because I've just been at work and reading lots of books.

FoodingI baked cookies a few nights ago. They looked like they had been cooked too long, but I did it exactly as long as the recipe told me to, and they're supposed to be a "crispy" recipe. Also, they were really small. Still, Antoine and I thought that ( Read more... )

Sorry about the meds-- that sucks. Ulcers are usually caused by a bacterium, H. pylori, so treatment is antibiotics plus antacids. Re having something put down your throat: you can handle it. It won't take that long. I had something similar done (when I first started to have stomach ails): and they did give me a sedative, so I'm not sure what the doc means, but in any case, it's better to have an answer than not.

What are the long-term effects of Prilosec? It seems to me that a lot of ppl take it long-term. (You don't have to answer in detail: I'll go look it up.)

I think he said it can speed up/contribute to osteoporosis, and cause anemia?

Yeah, he said they could numb my throat and give me a sedative, but like, I wanted to be unconscious, :/

Well then, if it's the same as what I had (probable), I practically *was* unconscious--I have very little memory of the procedure. Plus, the sedative is not as hard on you as anaesthesia would be; you'll recover faster. I'm trying to reassure you, here, if you can't tell. It'll be OK.

I didn't know that about Prilosec. I suppose they think the short-term benefits are worth it. It is pretty crappy that docs don't detail side effects to people.

Ooh, I'll try to see if I can find those episodes on YouTube! I always love all of that backstory (definitely part of what makes Becoming Pts. 1 and 2 so awesome); although I could probably do without David Boreanaz's horrible Irish accent, haha. But anyway, thanks for the tip. :D

Yeah, I'm not so much interested in Darla as I am in how she affects Angel.

I will try looking at that website, thanks for the tip!

Also, they put it in your throat through your nose! Can you believe it!

Thinking about this makes me want to scream.

But, yeah. My doctor said that based on my description of the symptoms, it probably wasn't acid reflux. It doesn't feel worse after spicy foods or pizza, or whatever, or worse after I lie down. It's just...always horribly painful.
