My obligatory reaction post for Episode 4:

  • I want to kick Branson. In the you know what. Where it hurts. Because HOW CAN HE DEMAND THAT OF SYBIL? Moreover, how can he talk to her in that tone? Yea, I am irritated with Branson. He's getting arrogant now and from the audience POV, we've not seen this evidence of Sybil's love for him. She's been worried and as she points out, she doesn't want to get him fired so that must mean she's in love with her. What really disappointed me was his saying she was only serving coffee to soldiers (or drinks or whatever). Allen Leech (spelling?) said they deleted a scene of his apologizing to her for that. They should have kept it, because the only way for B/S to work is if Sybil is really more cut for the service route. She's happy working and nursing and thus would prefer to leave her life of priveledge behind. That doesn't mean she wants to leave her family behind which of course Branson doesn't get. But he should get that she wants a job and be fulfilling it somewhere. Not to belittle it like any other man would ( ... )

Yeah, Isobel was interesting. I do hope she comes back soon! Sigh...I can't get enough of the singing scene...
