Nah I don't think it was cos of Yamazaki's schedule at all. L dies in the manga too so it was suppose to happen BUT I thought maybe this ONE time the writers wouldn't put us through the heartbreak. This is the 4th platform we've seen L die so we hardcore fans can't take it anymore really. I think Near is probably an IS, so both part boy and girl both mentally and physically.
In the original, it's Mello who kidnaps Sayu so that's why I said Himura is Mello in this. In terms of the role and the storyline she's been given.
Haha yeah! He should totally do Shampoo CMs!!!
I don't think Souichiro left his son on purpose, I think it was A. on purpose for the sake of the writing, B. to give his son room and C. he doesn't know how to comfort his son (he didn't do it when his mother died either).
I guess you are right about Light(o)´s father - he didn´t know how to do it when his wife did either.
Maybe "L"`s death is a must dictated by the manga-artist - and they only get the permission when L dies? From a finacial point it really is a waste to let L die. They surely could have done a second season if L stayed alive - and I´m sure it would have been finacially rewarding because fans would have loved it.
Let´s see if there soon will be a Kubota-Shampoo-CM out there ^-^.
I doubt that. They've been able to change everything else so far. Even for the movies everything was change dramatically so I get the feeling that the manga artist doesn't mind changes. I've read some of his interviews and he always sounds really nice and open to interpretations and thoughts and everything.
