I think that God just meant to avoid the influence of people who are participating in evil activities. While you can be around them, and love them the way Jesus did, don't let their actions seep into your life and become something that you do as well. Does that make sense?

I know, most people don't realize that though.

:( I guess that's how we get all this intolerance and hate in the world. honestly, people need to realize that the basis of almost every major religion today is love.

yeah, good observation.

and it doesn't end - when you die.

i was apart of that group last time around - very evil. It's taken me a long time to finally confront it all and get back in the light.

We all have different paths that we walk throughout our lives and sometimes we choose the wrong path, but that's alright as long as we can find our way back or stop along the way to ask for help. ^_^

I don't think that people en-masse are intelligent enough to understand God in the way you do, Tera. Instead, they take the simplified, primal, ignorant version that has been passed down to them for generations. They feel hatred, so they believe in a god that condones that hatred. It's easier than examining themselves. And, lacking the intelligence to examine the whole system, they simply don't.

A judgemental comment, I know, but as an athiest there is no irony inherent there. I never claimed to be right with God.
