Oh smashing pics Lisa. I would have squealed too at the sight of that wonderful field of nature's jewels. Really beautiful and the sunflowers too...a real quintessential view of France. I've been to France in August (incl Tours) in the days when I was well and used to go on motorbiking touring holidays. I remember the rain (we came home early as we couldn't get our stuff dry) and couldn't believe there were no little shops open for snacks. I remember making the decision to come home after one particularly wet and windy day, soaked to the skin and starving hungry the only thing we could find to eat was an icecream and that just pushed me over the edge. The castle light shows look fantastic too. Shame that you didn't have such a good experience in the restaurant, especially as France is suppose to be world famous in that department.
lol at only being able to get an ice cream to push you over the edge, that how i was nearing lol. I have no idea why france is famous for good food ive seen nothing of the sort any time there but they do have nice cakes and ice creams lol
The flower fields are beautiful. I like the pictures of you walking through the flowers. I'd have been like a pig in muck as I love rare steak and am happy to eat it raw too. I don't think the French understand well done :)
Wow Lisa, what a trip, I feel like I was there with you! Great photos, all those flowers, we don't really have fields like that here, but then we are such a dry country.... The flower shots you took are amazing! The evening light shows were spectacular, and I am so pleased for you that your health and patience held up so well. Don't blame you about the food and shops being closed, I would be the same, I think I'd have been looking for the nearest Macdonalds - hee. Glad to hear you had a fun time, and got to see your First KOALA - though what one is doing in France I have no idea - LOL. So I still get to show you your first Kangaroo or Wombat if you visit OZ???? lol I hope you got me a bag of all those deliscious looking lollies :-)
WOw Lisa! I just LOVED this entry and all the photos! What a magical place to be. I'm so envious. :) And the sunflower field! That made me catch my breath. I just adore sunflowers and to see an entire field of them would have had me grinning from ear to ear!
I'm so glad your holiday was so splendid - even with some of the not so nice things. Thank you so much for sharing a part of the world I may never get to see.
It was great to read about your holiday and sounds as though overall you had a magical time. I love your captures, the scenery you experienced is amazing and it's good to see and read experiences of an unknown land to me through a friend's eyes. I'm sure this lift in life will keep you going a while :-)
