meta/liveblog: 4.07 "Strange Attractors"

Oct 26, 2009 21:07

Have they gotten bored with David Bowie references for episode titles, and now have to start combing theoretical physics? No problem; there's a lot they can do with that. But still... no "Scary Monsters"? No "Queen Bitch"? No "Sense of Doubt" (from the album Heroes?)... Huh? HUH ( Read more... )

snark, recap, stuntcasting joy, ftw, meta, heroes_meta, show commentary, heroes season 4, liveblog, i love this show

Didn't like this one as much as last week, but I did like Head!Sylar taking control of Matt's body. I wasn't expecting that. Also loved Samuel's revenge on the cops. I do like what they're doing with Samuel. He's definitely a villain, he's arranged for multiple murders of innocent people (Claire's roommate, Ernie Hudson) yet somehow you still feel on his side when he performs acts of revenge like this, even knowing that there were also some innocent victims in that police station.

I didn't like this ep as much as last week's either, but it was still some chewy goodness. Poor Matt. Poor Bennet. Their lives are shit.

I missed all of the Petrellis. Claire doesn't count; she's no Peter or Nathan or Mama P. I hope they're on next week's episode. Mattehew Shephard is def. a better reference than what I initially thought of. I loved most of the episode. Sylar/Zac is just fascinating to watch. Matt's evil laugh in the end made me chuckle and reminded me once again of his character on Alias. Why? I don't know, really. It's just he'll always be Weiss to me. LOL. I miss Peter. I miss Nathan. They mentioned Mo' so maybe he'll return soon.

I miss the Major Petrelli Arcana, too, but I'm willing to roll with the new show structure, and yes, it makes for great TV even if we don't get all our characters every week.

Meanwhile Peter breezes through life without a care, not even bothering to show up on screen, oblivious to the endless torture, death, and destruction he leaves in his wake. That's my boy.

lol

the webcomics are saying truth and the DAUGHTER is actually Peter's love interest

Wait, what? Clearly I need to catch myself up on the webcomics. Why do they feel like they have to pair Peter with somebody? Is it to dissaude the Petrellicest shippers? I hate to tell Uncle Tim this, but there's no way that dog will hunt.

Hmmm... new season, new approach. I like. I even love.

I second this. :D

There are actually a whole bunch of things that I could've cut and pasted and responded to, but once again, your commentary is win. ♥

Maybe because he is teh sex? I don't know. ;)

Yes, read the 3 most recent webcomics (I did yesterday morning). New artist, very competent; writing is still a bit dodgy but Chris Zatta is always good.

Well, yeah, I guess you've got a point, lol

I will definitely be catching up on the webcomics this weekend.

Redneck Sbarge tells Jeremy to just git back in jail. So he does? Wow, he's even stupider than I thought. Or else Redneck Sbarge is a telepath and compelled him to do so...? Then again, I dunno, I'd rather be in jail than in the hands of a vicious, angry mob of small-town Southerners.

HRG keeps protesting. Tracy wants to talk to Jeremy again, but Redneck Sbarge will have none of it. Unbeknownst to him (my guess; if not, eww), a cop takes Jeremy outside at gunpoint, chains his legs together, and taunts him. Jeremy tries to keep his shit together, but he's weeping and shaking.

I read it as the kid thinks of himself as a murderer and wanted them to kill him to stop him from killing more people, and the hands shaking part was him resisting the impulse to kill that guy and save himself...

maybe a combination of all of these things?

Hey, I miss you, by the way. <3

aww! I miss you too! hey, we have a big new TV my housemate bought. Maybe we should have a joint session of Heroes sometime! Or go over some episodes from other seasons on a weekend or something.

Sylar mocking Mohinder totally made me crave some good ol' fashioned Mylar. For reals.

I wonder what would happen if "Nathan" saw Peter; would he get all his Nathan memories back and morph back into the Pasdar? One would think so - sort of the same way as when Peter saw Nathan's picture in S2 and remembered everything... And wouldn't that just be so extremely slashy beautifully poetic?

I love the similarities between the whole Sylar/Nathan debacle and S1's Nikki/Jessica storyline. Looks like next week they're not just doing a call-back to the first season, but actually going all the way back! Squee! I missed Charlie, even more when I started watching Glee.

O Gawd yes. Maybe I'll actually try to work on that story a bit tonight... leave the new boys alone and get back with the program!

I hope so. Fingers are crossed. Who knows, though? Nylar's at the carnival; Peter met Samuel but for some reason didn't go home and get busy with him, so I wonder what could bring him back?
