[Gau pauses for a moment, and there's a faint scratching, as of pen on paper. He glances across the room to his partner, then goes back to speaking, the sound still in the background as he writes and talks at the same time.]
Besides, what is being asked of us is basically not to cause trouble and to help defend ourselves and our temporary home, so I don't really see that as too nefarious.

Worst case scenario, and this saying we don't get eaten by monsters, we could theoretically... leave.
