[Ring, ring!]
Good afternoon everyone. It seems as though you're all settling in rather well. [There's a fairly high chance that most of the current tenants will recognise this voice as belonging to Professor Taylor Aldrich, who, despite being on the receiving end of the housekeeper's shrieks about the mess that's been made, seems in a pretty

[Yana's tone is terse, although he's relived there's some effort at figuring this attack out. He's just in business mode. And it is not a good day, headache-wise.]
A meeting sound like an excellent idea. I'll be there. I can't think of anything that can't wait until then.

[Sigh]
Still, I hope she won't be judged too harshly, this is all pretty unbelievable and er... It's not an unexpected assumption to make, given how few of you really look like you're from here. Not...that that should really be an excuse, but you know, given the circumstances and the strange situation it's not an unreasonable thought for a normal person to come up with. [ ... ] Not...to say that any of you aren't normal. At least we don't think so. I don't think so. But some of you might be a little abnormal. Very. Kind of. [Oh. He's doing it again, isn't he? Talking. And there's no Elias directly around to tell him to stop... Damn.]

A house meeting though, yes, definitely. There are things we need to discuss outside of touching base and last night's attack, of course, and this seems like a good place to do it.

He concludes... not.]
I have no clue what any of that is supposed to mean, I'm sorry to say.

Whatever it is that attacked us was certainly not human, neither was it animal, and I've seen fairly hideous animals. What is it that hides in that basement of yours?

[There is a hesitant pause, then Taylor clears his throat again.] There was nothing animal-like in the basement when we were there last, so it's not something we're hiding, that's for sure. Did anyone go down to the gateway there? Did the creatures come through?

[pause as he remembers something]
'Outside' is hardly correct. It's possible that they've been from inside, considering that you guys have opened up a lovely bus stop down your basement, and that some of them managed to get out and call their friends in. But if they're from outside, then we've got bigger problems for the town, don't we? Time to start considering my suggestion, Taylor.
[but most important of all:]
And anyway, I still wish your customs didn't take my bag. [he sounds annoyed and sad.] I could really use more guns. Maybe even those electric toys that they were working on issuing to us that I last heard.

[Not that Becker can see, but Taylor's face has formed into a frown at the suggestion and a hand moves to lightly rub the pad of his thumb over the bridge of his nose.] I can't deny that there is indeed a possibility that we do have big problems, and your suggestion has been taken on-board. In part, that may well be part of the discussion this afternoon.
... Electronic toys? I'm not sure I follow that part, but... if additional weaponry is something that we need to invest in then it's...something we can consider. [Despite the aftermath of the recent attack, Taylor isn't about to arm Becker to the teeth just yet.]

[There's a small shifting sound as he transfers the receiver to the uninjured side of his face.]
I got a little banged up. Nothing some ice ain't fixing. I don't think we need to drag the good Doc back out here again, not for me at least.

So far I haven't heard of anyone else getting hurt in a way that would warrant us calling Doctor--[He pauses awkwardly for a second. The night to doctor had come to tend to Daisya had actually been the first time Taylor had seen the man and as a result he was finding it difficult to draw his name to mind. Malcolm? Mason? He was unsure about his first name and couldn't even recall the vague sound of the last. It makes him a bit uncomfortable, but that isn't something he's going to trouble George with right now.]--the doctor.
Where did you get bumped? Was the skin broken, or is it some impressive bruising you got?

I'm glad of that. Me an' Daisya tried to warn people. I s'pose we were all scattered around the house. [He makes no mention of the verbal stumble over the doctor's name or title although he notices it. He'd feel completely rude and out of place correcting someone much more educated than he is.]
Took a good clout to the side of the face. I didn't get clawed. Probably good I didn't. They didn't seem too big on personal hygiene. I ain't very pretty right now. [He gives a rare chuckle.] So I guess that ain't changed much, huh?

[He makes a low, thoughtful noise in his throat.] But it's definitely a concern, there's no way around that. There aren't all that many of you here, after all, and if you were to get caught in another situation like that which scattered everyone it may make it easier to pick off stragglers. Which is very worrying indeed, so we really need to think of ways to ensure you all stay safe. And figure out who, or what, these creatures that attacked you are.
And I'm sure, all considered, that you look better than you think. [A beat, then he adds:] Though, if I recoil in horror next time I see you then I'll take that back. And apologise for the recoil itself, no doubt.
