If knowing you are missing the memorial will overshadow your party, your party won't be a party any more.. You may feel guilty the whole time.. If you think you could enjoy the party just fine, then keep the party the same date. Otherwise, I'd say to move or cancel it..

I think it's important for you to go to the memorial. Just change the party date (maybe to a Sunday? ^_~). It's completely understandable.

Well i actually have split opinions on this on one hand i dont think your friend would want you to cancel the party, but on th eother hand i think you should go to the memroial. IT's realyl up to you, but i will support you in what ever you will decied.
