I was starting to wonder if anyone was going to comment at all.

My decision to have Allen top was enirely driven by the narrative. Well ... allmost. XD
The way I see their relationship, who's on the top or bottom pretty much depends the emotional place they're in at that moment or whatever they're in the mood for. It might just as well have been Lavi on top, but Allen ... the events in the Ark rattled him. There's a hell of a lot of stuff he doesn't understand and there's not much he can do about it at present and this is part of his way of coping.

But I always thought it was sad the more determined Allen get's so little screen time in fics... so part of this was also about my inner rebel wanting to be different, I guess. XD

I'd love to write more if the bunnies cooperate. :)

It's the sad thing about LJ...most people WILL read, but there's no real way of knowing they do since people hardly ever comment. Wish I could change this, yeah, but what can ya do? ^^;

Your explanation sounds good to me xD (if there's something about me you should know off the bat is I'm pretty neutral towards pairings. The only time I'll probably get annoyed is if, say, you can't see Allen being dominant (or basically aren't seeing ALL of one characters personalities) *got on to one of her really close friends about how she played Lavi in RPs* she's getting better about that now so that's good XD

And yeah that IS sad. I LOVE that side of Allen, personally XD

I certainly hope they do! I'm trying to get mine to work as well *has been having issues with writing lately* (not writers block, persay, but I used to be able to write over 10 pages easy....and now I can't. xP *is basically making herself write drabbles for every day of the school year in hopes to get that writing ability back*)

Yeeeah, I know, I'm probably guilty of the same thing. I try to comment on the fics I really enjoy, but generally I find them ages after the fact and I kind of feel silly commenting on something that hasn't been touched in a year or two.

I remember it being better back when I did post fics more often, or maybe it was just the fandom, I dunno.

The thing I like most about Allen (and this actually holds true for most of the DGM cast) is that he's got all these facets to him. Sure, he is adorable, but he's also such a ... well... male teen sometimes and then there's Dark!Allen aswell and... yeah. XD Writing him off as the cute submissive boytoy would be denying most of what makes him really interesting to me. I love snarky!Allen and strong!Allen and vulnerable!Allen it's the contrast that makes the character for me. *rambles on* XD

I agree that that Allen topping needs to be written more, fic coverage is kind of one-sided. The fics I enjoy most are the ones that manage to portray the ... giving and taking and the shifts of power, if you know what I mean.

Yessssss. Um. I've read this over and over and over a few times today and am wistfully hoping for the bits that would connect all of these together and have I said these are gorgeous?

I love, love the kiss. The one in the section Responding. I love how desperate it is, and how it's against a stone wall (totally not a kink, noooope), and just how gorgeous your description is. Allen launched himself at him in a childlike attempt to seek reassurance and pressed his hips against Lavi's in a way was anything but innocent is possibly one of my favourite lines in these drabbles.

And Innocence kink. TOTALLY NOT A KINK AGAIN. Guuuuh. Feeling is so, so hot. I adore how Allen is such a clever boy who knows how to shamelessly torture Lavi. I love your characterization of Allen, period ♥

Just read the other comments as well and, hmm, I honestly don't quite care whether it's Allen/Lavi or Lavi/Allen, to me it's all the same :) You write Allen well, you write Lavi well, you write Allen and Lavi together very, very well, and that's excellent

Man, you and me, both. XD Can't tell you much, really, but the idea was originally to have the main plot (that essentially starts with Pondering) and to interweave that with flashbacks of Lavi's memories. The more memories ... well, not resurface, but the more memories Lavi re-evaluates, the more he accepts that he's fucked up a little, so to speak... XD There're also some scenes of Allen trying to come to terms with what happened in the Arc and what Mana never told him, but since it's Lavi's PoV, he doesn't really get the full picture.
Some of the scenes worked, some of them didn't and I let the fic rest for a while after getting frustrated.

I'm glad you liked that line from "Responding". I was kind of at odds with that one. I liked how it flowed, but something about calling Allen "childlike" makes me twitchy. Sometimes seeming innocent and cute is part of the mix, but it's

Writer's block/having scenes that do not work satisfactorily is a terrible feeling, I know D: It sounds like the makings of a lovely introspection fic, though! Mmhmm, if it's going to be Lavi's point of view in this fic it's going to be tricky working in Allen's scenes in Lavi's point of view. I'd really love to know more about that fascinating bit in Accepting, where Lavi says nothing's really changed since they slept together - which made me wonder when did they start sleeping together X) Still, I'm very happy to see the scenes that did work presented here, it makes for a nice exploration of Lavi's thoughts on the events that have happened

it's going to be tricky working in Allen's scenes in Lavi's point of view.
Yeah. Then again, being observant is thankfully one of Lavi's talents, so he is able to deduce more than you usually would expect, in some ways more than Allen probably could figure out by himself. Also the fic was never really intended to explain what was going on inside of Allen; it's Lavi's story after all. I actually found it incredibly fascinating to just examine how Lavi reacted to Allen's emotional turmoil.

Heh, even though the way the scenes are arranged here seems to imply they started sleeping with each other after the Ark incident, I don't think that's when this started. Don't ask me when exactly it did, though; Allen/Lavi is one of the very few pairings I don't have a fixed how-it-all-began headcanon for. I just know that it's been going on for a while.

But in the context you've built up it makes sense that a plea for reassurance makes him more childlike than usualI'm glad it works
