Oooo... very bittersweet.

Poor Shuuhei, but it is so cool that he ends on that note of faith, in a way, of just doing what's before him and trusting that that will be what matters. I really, really liked that.

Nicely introspective piece! And I love the structure of the first paragraph, all the logical stuff, and then it all goes to hell in the second paragraph. You could.... almost pull the last two sentences out into their own paragraph... Dunno if that would make more impact?

I like the character profiling of Shuuhei. You know, I've always felt but have yet to write of his pain at his Captain's betrayal because given Tousen's supposedly 'just' personality I figured he was prob hurting the most.

I like that he is trying, and getting along as best he can. From the little we see and know of his character ... he is IC here. Good job!

glad you liked it ... Ken-chan gave me the prompt and I asked another friend for a character and when she said Shuu, it just totally clicked into place. I like it when writing does that.
