A few spelling things. *laughter* theif instead of their, beginning of second paragraph. to instead of too in "much too depressing".

I like that you really use the knowledge of the fan folk in *knowing* what's going to happen to Kaien to make this really poignant rather than just some happy guy with a good wife going off to a great, happily-ever-after life. An excellent turn of the screw on this little piece. I love that.
