Day 0. Thursday. Pre-Asylum

Jun 08, 2009 15:38

Okay then, here I start my Asylum and general vacation reports :)
Warning! They will be very detailed because not all of my friends were able to go to the con and some asked to tell about every moment lol Will try to avoid that though but still ;)

Anyway, do try not to fall asleep here :)) )

Yay, your room looked great!! Can't wait for more reports ♥

I love flying too! I prefer direct flights because I had a bad experience once with missing my connecting flight due to delays etc, but when there's no other way and I do have to have a stop in between, I'm always happy too because that means I get to take-off twice, lmao! ♥

Thank you! Have you been staying in Hilton or did you live in another hotel around?

I missed my connecting flight last year and had to wait for 24 hours for the next one because they were only once a day but thankfully it didn't happen this year :)) It was a nice trip. And I love taking-off too <33

No I stayed at the Hilton too. For a con I think it's so convenient when you stay in the con hotel, you don't have to run very far to get your stuff or to freshen up or whatever. ;)

Yeah, that was really convenient :)) You don't have to carry all your stuff all the time, there are always a couple of minutes to run up to your room and grab what you need :)) Or you can change quickly for the photo ops. I had this RichART's print for autos and I think I'd go crazy if I had to ALWAYS carry it with me lol

Nice report :)

I love flying, too ... and you're so right, you can die any second of any day, why would taking a flight change that risk :)

"I never sleep in transport. Any transport. I can't sleep in cars/busses/planes, so despite all my love to flights in general they are also quite a challenge"

Me neither :( If it moves, I can't sleep. The longest I've ever flown was to LA and that was really torture (still worth it, though).

Your room looked great! And it must be so cool to tell people you stayed in the Hilton :)

Thanks :)) I'll try to update as soon as possible :))

Yeah, I really love flying and I love airports and everything about traveling but I'm so jealous of people who can sleep on the planes! It wasn't my longerst flight though, only 6 hours but at night it was a bit exhausting. How long did it take you to fly from LA?

I loved my room too :)))

Yeah!

Amsterdam - LA (with a transfer in London) took about 13 hours :(

OMG! Yeah, that's a lot.
When my mom was flying to Toronto via Amsterdam it took her over 14 hours, whicn IMO is too long

Thanks, hun! I had the best sleep in that bed ever, don't remember the last time I slept so well :)) But that also was about vacation I guess lol My life here is too unnerving for peaceful sleep ;)
We were flying at the height of 11 km or so, that was what I saw on the screen. They were making pauses in the movies from time to time to show us the altitude and temperature outsided and remained time of the flight. I couldn't read either several years back but I guess I got used to it :))
I'll update soon ;)
And thanks for reading :))

PS Nice icon!!
