So I went to the Fashion Place mall with Pipes last night. We had gone looking for a new vehicle to replace her '88 Oldsmobile POS, we had gone to the Jumbo Buffet, gorging ourselves on Chinese, Japanese and generally Asian food, and we needed someplace to walk it off ( Read more... )

We have memory foam on our bed and it's wonderful. It seems to lose its amazing memorial properties over time but it's still pretty darn awesome.

Did you get the cheapie, one-inch-thick version from Wal-Mart? (I did. It was only $60.) I hope you're not losing the benefits of a fully-fledged Tempur-Pedic.

You know, a kiosk person once asked me if I was interested in blah blah blah. I interrupted them mid-sentenced and answered them with another question. "D'you want me to punchisize your face for free?"

I'm a rare mall goer myself.

I tend to regard window-shopping as about as worthless as, well, going to a strip-joint. That isn't to be crass, or crude. It's just that you go, you may not close a deal (so you're wasting your time, ultimately), and if you DO spend your money, it's usually on a pretty empty result, anyway.

(I've only been to a strip joint once, in my youth... and it was more than enough for the rest of my life. Utterly without redeeming qualities)

Malls are designed around the concept that -- hey! -- if you want to go to one store, to buy a product, then the chances are that something else may catch your eye along the way. That's also why their floor-plans are laid out to be as inefficient as possible. (To make you walk past more stores) Wal-Mart takes the concept one step further, and centralizes the entire system. However, I find I can tolerate them much, much more. At least they don't have hordes of pushy salespersons coming up to you, trying to peddle their wares like a shady trinket dealer on the streets of any large American city.

Yea I try to avoid the mall by all means. I do well. I don't even go there during the holiday season and if I am there (usually because someone I am with needs to go there) I'll make it out in 1hr or less.
