Discovered in a boy's bedroom... ;-)

I was cleaning (AKA 'mucking out', 'excavating', etc...) my 10yo son's bedroom, when I found a scrap of paper crumpled up in the corner. He collects old machines and fixes them - this story was obviously typed on his "portable" manual typewriter. (I've transcribed it below the picture.)

He's definitely got a storyteller's imagination! :-) I think it'll be a shock to everyone if he turns out to be a writer, though. The boy doesn't much care for reading and he's been diagnosed with a learning disability that means he must haul a laptop computer around with him all day at school. (He thinks it's cool, actually - his only complaint is that we've blocked his internet access.)

That's a nice little scene- writers potential is there indeed.
Hey and good to hear from you and your kids! *waves*

*waves back* Hi! I know, I've been MIA lately. I wrote five non-fanfic stories and sent them off to various magazines - only one rejection so far, and it was a pretty nice one, too.

Also, I'm on a housecleaning/decluttering binge, which is how I came across my son's little story. I also accidentally destroyed the antenna for the 80's era TV he found on the side of the road (how was I supposed to know what that coat hanger was for??). He spent last night straightening another of my hangers and using paperclips to attach it to the TV. Apparently analog transmission is going off the air in February, so he has to make the most of his TV while he can.

And I'm crocheting mittens as fast as I can! But I haven't forgotten my fandoms. :-)
