It has been brought to my attention that it is national poetry month. I shall follow wordsofastory's lead and post a poem every day. One of my favorite English teachers had a unit within his Writing Fiction and Poetry class dedicated to song lyrics, so song lyrics will be included in this endeavor ( Read more... )

I really like all the poetry you chose so far! It's a little on the dark side, but there's always hope and love as well :)
By the way, I hope you're feeling better soon! It sucks to be depressed - not seeing the beautiful things in life anymore, although there are plenty...

This could probably be the tag line of my life! :D

And thank you for your concern. :) The depression I can deal with, I'm varying levels of depressed the majority of the time; it's the mania that terrifies me. But I've adapted, and there can be great beauty in despair and darkness.
I wouldn't wish my life any other way though. I would not be myself without my mental illness. It's not my entire identity, but it is an essential part of it.
