At last another chapter

The air burned in Cloud’s lungs while the muscles seemed as if they were trying to pull away from his bones. He had been running for what seemed like a hour now. He was chasing after the suspect for ‘the ripper’ case but the man had decided to bold and Cloud had to follow him. Twisting through the alleyways it was obvious that ‘the ripper’ knew the city better than Cloud, but Cloud was fast and years of running around the mountains in his hometown had given a lot of stamina. Compared to the man he was chasing it was obvious that Cloud was more athletically able for the chase. ‘The ripper’ was already slowing down and seemed to be getting desperate as he swerved and ducked, trying to prolong the now inevitable capture at the blond officer’s hands. Finally as Cloud increased his speed and began to eat into the distance that separated them the man seemed to snap in a way and pull out a small handgun. He started wildly firing in Cloud’s direction, he wasn’t even looking to aim but simply held his hand facing behind him as he emptied the gun. The bullets sprayed around Cloud none actually hitting him. Then one bullet richoshaed off a lamp post and shards of metal went flying into the palm of his left hand. Cloud faltered and almost tripped up over his feet at the sudden sharp pain that shot up his arm, causing him to clench his hand into a fist, attempting to prevent any blood from being lost.

“Cloud!” Zack had pulled into the end of the alley with the police car, blocking off the exit.

Both Cloud and the criminal increased their pace, Cloud to catch the man by pinning him between himself and Zack while the man ran faster to try and escape from either cop. Then Zack slammed the door open and sprinted to intercept the fleeing man. He rammed into his side with a tackle that would impress one of the best rugby players. This sent the two men sprawling onto the ground. Cloud had then caught up and yanked his handcuffs out of his belt, he quickly strapped them onto the cursing mans hands after twisting them behind his back. He started to recite the necessary phrase that was used when arresting people.

“You are under arrest, for the murder of numerous victims, from this point on anything you say or do can be used against you in the court of law.” With this Cloud and Zack roughly pushed ‘the ripper’ into the back of the police car, Zack sat down to constrain him while Cloud climbed into the driver’s seat.

As they pulled into the headquarters of the police force, three other officers ran out to help wrestle the criminal into the station. He was locked into one of the cells in the basement and left to rave and curse.

Zack reached over to tug at Cloud’s sleeve, “Come on man, let’s get that hand of yours looked at,” then the most manicle and horrifying grin crept over his mouth, “Heeey, Spiky. Do you want a lift to the med-bay?” He waggled his eyebrows.

Cloud narrowed his eyes, he did not like that grin, it looked like one devil-Cloud would give when he had a particularly evil plot. It also sent his warning instinks giving up on sirens and just screaming for their mothers. “What does a lift entail?”

If possible, Zack’s grin got wider, “Why Spiky just let me show you,”

With that he hoisted Cloud over his shoulder and left him hanging there like a sack of flour, he then started to skip towards the infirmary as if he were some flower girl on crack in a field. He was laughing like a maniac as he skipped past the offices, drawing many eyes that then turned away. The people at the station were all to used to Zack’s lack of sanity or common sense. Cloud was doing his impression of a tomato, or was it a japelino pepper. Whatever the impression was, Cloud’s face was bright red in reaction to the humiliation of being carried in such a fashion by his work partner.

“Zack! Put me down!” Cloud thrashed and kicked, but from his position it was hard to gain any leverage or put any power behind his hits. All he managed to do is amuse Zack as he continued down the corridor. ‘Must not kill partner, would put me in jail. Must not kill partner, would put me in jail. Must not kill partner, would put me in jail. Oh screw it!’ And as Cloud’s temper finally reached breaking point and he was about to reach for his gun, Zack burst through the doors of the infirmary and placed Cloud down on a bed.

“There we go Spikey, now we can get that hand of yours looked after so no need to worry your pretty head about it,” ‘That man has the luck of the devil’ Cloud thought as he moved his hand away from the handle of his gun, ‘had he carried me one step further I would have killed him with no regret’. Cloud turned his still-red face away from the far too innocent face of Zack, ‘as it is I will only maim him a little’.

“Zack, what little guy have you brought this time, I hope you were not the one that caused him to be in here,” a soft voice filled with laughter came from across the room and both men spun to see a woman standing there. She had brown hair tied up with a pink ribbon that fell in a braid down her back. Her green eyes glinted as she first looked at Cloud then turned to face Zack. She was pretty and wore a pink dress beneath her doctor’s coat.

“Aeris! How have you been, sweetheart?” Zack bounced over and swept the woman into a hug leaving Cloud to stare after him. Perhaps he was in a relationship with this woman? Cloud wondered how she could stand Zack for extended lengths of time. He certainly would not be able to; he had enough trouble not going mad from spending this much time with the exuberant young man.

Aeris giggled and wrapped her arms around Zack’s neck, giving him a small peck on the lips. “Things have been boring without you around, but what little birdie have you brought me here, he looks so cute there looking all befuddled and lost. Please can I dress him up? He would look so cute in some of the outfits I have ready for him.” Cloud groaned. That explained it, they were both crazy.

“Sorry sweetheart, you will need to treat him first. Spiky here has a hurt hand but maybe if you get to know him you can dress him up later, I think the army costume would look great to start with,”  Zack was grinning again and Cloud shuddered, trust him to get a partner who’s girlfriend liked to dress people up in cosplay. From the looks of things he was going to play dolly. Cloud began to edge towards the direction of the door, praying to whatever deity that had watched over him to let him escape from this insane couple that seemed intent on messing up his live into chaos.

“Anyway, let’s look at this hand of yours.” Aeris suddenly swept over to where Cloud was perched at the edge of the bed, only three feet from the open door. ‘Dammit, foiled!’ Cloud swore in his head, his escape plan was ruined as he was guided over to a chair next to an intimidating set of doctorish tools and potions.

Cloud tuned out Aeris and Zack’s chatter while she cleaned his hand and then bandaged it only catching a few words such as ‘cute birdie’ and ‘military costume’ before he decided that the conversation was too insane for him and went back to daydreaming. A pair of green eyes was at the forefront of his daydreams and he was thinking about how they had bored into his own before he shook himself. He was daydreaming about a man who he knew nothing about, and then he started again. He was more bothered that he knew nothing about Sephiroth than the fact that he was a man. If anything his inner devil purred when he thought about how male Sephiroth was. He was just entering a particularly interesting daydream about what Sephiroth must look like shirtless when Aeris suddenly dropped his hand and started to ruffle his hair.

“There, Cutie, all done. Don’t come here to often unless it is to visit me or I’ll get angry ok,” she smiled and for a moment Cloud could see why his partner was so besotted with her. Then her smile took a sinister turn, “Let me dress you up some time as well, Please?” this woman was defiantly evil. Cloud said his goodbyes and rushed out of the room, away from the madness, he was sure he could hear evil laughter echoing behind him.

After exiting the police station cloud allowed his feet to take him where they will. Midgar was not a city where one walked around enjoying the sights however Cloud was surprised to find himself at the park where ‘the ripper’ had struck, more particularly at the bench where he had met Sephiroth. Almost in a daze he found himself once again loosening his tie and pulling his shirt out of his trousers, so he could lay back against the bench. Cloud wondered if Sephiroth would come again today. He hoped so.

Suddenly a shadow fell across Cloud’s face and strands of silver draped down to tickle his cheeks, once again he was staring into green eyes that swept any thoughts that there might be from his mind. He dimly noticed that the pupils of those eyes were more slit than a normal persons but somehow all it seemed to do is add to the hypnotic effect that those eyes had on him. Cloud did not know how to breath and as he continued to stare into those fascinating eyes it seemed as if a cold, or was it hot, liquid slid along the surface of his bones, paralysing him and leaving him defenceless against the man in front of him.

“Hello Cloud,” the words were purred and the liquid on his bones were defiantly burning now, fire was shooting all round his body and he could feel the stirrings of arousal, he was surrounded in silver, trapped. Cloud was mildly startled that the idea of being trapped and bound by this man was more arousing than is should have been.

“Sephiroth,” he managed a breathless reply.

He was so cute there looking so confused and stunned, he hadn’t moved yet and Sephiroth was delighted to see a sliver of arousel creep into his little pet’s eyes, yes, Cloud was already his pet and Sephiroth only needed to draw him into him. Once he had him he would never let go, he would never tire of Cloud he was too perfect for him. He swept his eyes along Cloud’s body once again taking in all of him, only to notice the bandage around Cloud’s hand. Sephiroth frowned, what had marred his perfection, only he was allowed to cut into the beautiful skin and cause cracks of red to escape its prison within the boy. For someone else to have caused a drop of the ruby liquid to fall is unforgivable. Cloud was his.

Quickly Sephiroth reached down and grabbed Cloud’s hand before bringing it up to him to be inspected, he observed the cute flush that sped across Cloud’s cheeks as he did so.

“Who hurt you” Sephiroth’s eyes drilled into Cloud’s

Cloud ripped his eyes away from the intense stare; it was too much for him the weight of what was in those eyes. He could not recognise the feelings exactly but he still shivered under the weight of them. “No one,”

A Gloved hand reached out and grasped his jaw, turning his head to once again stare into endless depths of green, “Who hurt you?” the words were soft but there was unmistakable steel beneath them. This was a man that could control armies if he wanted to.

As if an invisible force was moving him cloud found his mouth opening, he could not lie faced directly with those inhuman eyes.

“My partner and I were chasing ‘The Ripper’ when he realised he was caught he fired wildly and one bullet hit my hand,” Ashamed at his incompetence Cloud cast his eyes down looking at his hands instead. Sephiroth’s other hand was next to his thigh, he concentrated on looking at the seams in the black leather gloves that covered what he knew to be long, slender, pale fingers. Those fingers were perfectly capable of doing many things, things that sent shivers down Cloud’s spine as he thought of them.

“He hurt you; he cut though your flesh!” The words came out as a chilling hiss and, startled by the hateful tone held in the sentence, Cloud snapped his eyes back to Sephiroths. They were narrowed with fury dancing in their depths. The effect made the slit pupils look all the more inhumane and all the more hypnotic. This time Cloud was unable to pull his eyes away and they stayed there Cloud sitting on the bench with Sephiroth towering over him like an avenging angel.
