So typical of GBA to be so careful not to let anyone who wasn't their 'suki' win. Anyway and anyhoo, as long as we know who is the best one in the series, no need for awards to assure that he's the best. ^^ At least he got nominated pa. Mine was never nominated nor mentioned at least. These guys just have to strive harder on their own and forget about bagging awards for at least 5 years or more. Believe me, if Jielun can't bag the award from GMA, same case as GBA. suckers.

I know they don't need those kind of validation. But it still hurts. I guess it's the same way that I'm sure you felt when Jerry was not nominated :(

The fact that he didn't win isn't really the thing that hurts me the most. I just feel (whether rightly or wrongly) that there was a deliberate intent to snub Zai. I know I'm biased and all and I don't really have enough basis to judge their performances, but most people have commented that Zai's performance is so more layered and intricate compared to Mark Zhao. And I guess a part of me also feels envious...

I'm just hoping that Zai would become even more determined to perfect his craft. I feel that he's been on a downward spiral for several years already and his work is one of the things that keeps him sane. Pareho yata kami ni ZaiZai na meron quarter-life crisis!

Mark Zhao cried, he looked guilty for taking the award ang thanking zaizai that's why his dad asked zz to stand up, 'coz I think zz assisted him a lot during the filming. He said he wasn't expecting one bit to win, they were all betting on zz. and omg the look on zz's face... indescribable... parang he's in the middle of nowhere...

I watched his acceptance speech. I was crying when I saw Zai's expression. I really have no words. I don't know what to think anymore. (I sent you an email, patranslate yun posts ni ZZ ha. The transations at VIC were too confusing!)

I know. It's such a strong and honest statement. I guess everyone's emotions were just too high.

I hope so! As I've mentioned above, Zai is Leo DiCaprio to Director Cai's Martin Scorsese.

Oo nagulat ako nung sinabi ni Mrs. Cai yan! Parang ok... alas-singko na ng madaling araw inaantok na ako pero nagulat ako sa acceptance speech nya! Wahahaha... parang naawa tuloy ako kay Mark Zhao bigla... pero hinde. It was never his award in the first place. Just watch the series and u'll know what I mean.

Hayyy I wish I was able to watch the new series din... Dark na naman ba like Mars? Never mind the award, parang cherry on top na lang un...altho hindi ba slightly insensitive for the producer to broadcast na ZZ is the best actor for her when the one who bagged the award was also from the same drama... No offense naisip ko lang...Pero Mars pa lang dapat na kay ZZ na ung award na best actor eh... He should've won for Mars, that's what I think...Anyway, we share your sentiment Atty. Mia... ZZ is a great actor and he proves it each time, award or no award :)

I think Director Cai's wife was just too overwhelmed. I know that her statement might sound insensitive, but judging from her and Director Cai's reaction, I think she never meant any harm. She probably just wanted to give where credit is due. The statement might not have been the most politically correct, but statements from the heart tend to be politically incorrect at times. Even when the winner thanked ZaiZai in his acceptance speech, she was crying so hard.

Your blog entry about the GBA was very shocking :O I never thought/expected something like that. But I've recently read fan posts questioning so many things (similar to your entry) and I couldn't really understand the meaning of their posts as I never considered Director Cai being like that. I've always held him in high esteem...

Re: Mark Zhao and his dad. I've heard a lot of things about them actually... Is his dad a producer or also an actor?

for me ZZ also should have been the best actor...love the series! great work...they really deserve to win, ZZ's performance was impressive! di siya dark...actually nakakatuwa din siya esp. ZZ's character ibang iba sa dati nyang characters...ayos nga because at least this is something new and he no longer is stereotyped with those kind of roles (HZL)
