If the story had continued further, that's probably exactly what would have happened, haha xD But it's open to interpretation, so if someone wanted to believe they just went out for pizza instead, that works, too. xDD
And here, have my mediocre Puzzleshipping idea: the YGO crew are all pirates/sailors/etc and the Millennium Items are cursed pirate gold. xD (this is a sure sign I've been watching too much Pirates of the Caribbean)
xD That's just mediocre enough to work! Kidding, it's not actually half bad, I can already see the rest in my head: notorious pirate captain Yami realizes the gold he had stolen from the (British? French? Egyptian?) turns out to have been cursed, and he must now deliver it back to its original resting place or face its terrifying wrath. At the same time, newly shanghaied pirate Yugi never wanted a life on the sea, but after catching the captain's eye, can he ever be free again?
Oh gosh. xDDD It sounds so bad. Almost bad enough to be good. Heck, if it was a story already, I'd read it. xD
