I learned on my own recently that "write what you know" is a little silly. I had always just accepted that saying but never actually thought about it. Until I was in the middle of a Stephen King book and was like WAIT WAIT WAIT A MINUTE. STEPHEN KING DOESN'T "WRITE WHAT HE KNOWS" UNLESS HE KNOWS VAMPIRES AND TRANS-DIMENSIONAL BEINGS THAT EAT THE PAST AND ALIENS AND THE INSIDE OF GOD'S MIND AND SHIT. So ever since that clicked into place I've been like FUCK THAT I'M WRITING WHATEVER I WANT.

I have been thinking about this since you posted this comment and this is SO PERFECT. I am now writing all the sex-in-space I damn well feel like it. :) HA.
