At first the mechanics of Lirael/Mogget was confusing me. Then I remembered that Mogget can change shape, so it doesn't have to be as brain-hurty as I had originally assumed.

I always picture Mogget in this scenario as looking kind of like Silas from The Da Vinci Code.

Works for me. All his incarnations do seem to be rather pale/bloodless looking in the books.

Ohhh did you know that Garth Nix is coming out with two more books set in the Old Kingdom/Ancelstierre? "Clariel: The Lost Abhorsen", which will be about the woman who became Chlorr of the Mask (2010), and an as yet untitled novel set a few years after "Abhorsen" (2011.) I am thrilled. :D

Abhorsen Trilogy! :D I loved those books as well...not to mention H/Hr and Jack/Elizabeth!
