And here I'll be in LA on Monday, Nov. 24. BUT I'll be leaving on a jet plane in the early afternoon. Darn!
I know you haven't been going to the Stargate Creation cons, but I'll be in Burbank for the weekend. I don't suppose you'll be anywhere in the area? Because as you know, there is a LOT of downtime at a Creation con and it would be great to see you!
Sorry for randomly accosting you like this :) (I happened to surf by from a link in the SPN newsletter.)
I don't really follow the SGA fandom and hadn't heard of this convention, and I'm curious. Do you know if there are plans for any kind of save SGA rallying there? I can't help feeling there should be picket lines outside any SGU events... :P
Well, this isn't really any kind of SGU event. Only SGA actors, with no writers and producers. So we would be rallying to the converted.
A couple months ago, I was hoping someone might organize this weekend to do a rally outside NBC studios. The problem with that is on the weekend there won't be anyone there, and on Friday most of us will just be getting into town. So I didn't push it.
This convention is very expensive for most of the attendees ($370), so that's our support for the SGA actors right there. You won't see me paying any money at future cons to see any SGU actors or sets in Vancouver. And I will be letting the Creation con organizers know that next weekend.
Ah. I see. It's more of a fan-organised con, than officially by the "franchise"? (hate that word) I glanced at the website, saw a SGU banner and thought there might be people promoting it. If so, maybe it would have been noticed if no-one showed up :P
Ouch, that's expensive, yes. Money... I doubt the people in charge worry about rallies or emails and lemons in the mail as long as they think SGU will be more profitable. Fan actions would have to be more... scary and effectively threaten profit to work. Though who knows how to do that?
