*Ouch*.

The best kind of pain from an awesome fic. Loved it!

Prepare for a lot of text:
You have made me the happiest OP. When I posted that prompt, it was in the half-hopeful way of "wouldn't it be great if this got filled?" but not actually expecting anything.
Imagine my glee at seeing this pop up in my inbox this morning. It's a pretty huge amount of glee.
Then imagine, upon reading this, my joy at this being the fill. You know, it actually might be easier to find one of those scale pictures of a blue whale next to a human. The whale is my joy.
But now, the actual fic:
This is fab. Oh my gosh. From the start to the end, this is just so them. The fact that you wrote this in the "they should have/shouldn't have" really captures that fucked-upped-ness that (to me at least) is so fascinating. For a minute there at the beginning you get the feeling that it's all going to work out and things will be great right up until "The arguments should have torn them apart". Then the façade just crumbles, kind of like their relationship. I just have this image of them leaving their door open by accident and ( ... )

I actually commented with a second or third for the fic myself, can't remember which, didn't expect to end up filling it, but when inspiration strikes, y'know? I'm really happy I could bring such whale sized joy.

I'm rendered quite speechless by such praise, my usual comments on my writing are the 'more!!!' types, so to receive a comment that sows someone has really got where I was coming from has taken me aback a little. I'm glad that I managed to get across the ideas I had in my head, I was worried that they may have suffered a little in translation.

See, I had planned to try and write more, was looking at a 1K minimum but the more I added, the more it felt like it was repeating the same ideas and just driving home a point I'd already made.

Thank you so much, I'm glad I could fill such a wonderful prompt.

I... you. you made words and they are amazing.
Which I had absolutely no doubt they would be but you manage an entire relationship with its turbulent emotions & the real reason they're together in so few words. Fantastic job, m'dear.
The ending is killing me though. omg they should have... but they'll just lie next to one another and lie to one another is so bitter and true.

Thank you so much!

The ending was the part I had real trouble with. It's a hard story to tie up, you want to tear them apart but as you've already made such a point of their co-dependence, you don't feel it would work. You want them to be happy but they're so clearly broken, it doesn't work. You want to put them with the people who'd make them happy but it's such a cop out. I didn't want to repeat one of my usual tricks and just repeat the opening line. I struck lucky when that just dropped into my head, heh.

I'm so glad you liked it, darling!

I have to be honest, I'm not all that familiar with this fandom, so I don't want to act like I'm all sorts of familiar with the characters when I'm absolutely not. lol But with that said, I read this while I was on vacation at the lodge, and couldn't wait to get home and comment on it.

It was stunning. The whole thing flowed so beautifully. I love how it's based on the idea that they both know better, but they don't care. And the simplicity of it - that it was just enough and wasn't overly complicated - absolutely wonderful.

As always, you have such a way with words, my dear. I always look forward to reading your fics. You never disappoint. :)

The fact that you read this without any real knowledge of the fandom makes me smile so much. I tried to make it a fairly accessible piece, mostly relying on the movies canon but I had to fill in some gaps for Clint, which were comics based.

Thank you so much for your lovely words and for still reading my nonsense even after all these years! And hey, told you I'd write Renner fic! :D
