Checking In

I am not a social person by nature. This is a thing most people know about me, even if most of those people don't understand it. There is no part of me that desires to be around large groups of people, or even small groups of people, all the time. That is my roommate, not me. And quite frankly, I am okay with that. However ( Read more... )

I've never thought of you as a snob. Then again, I'm also the person who doesn't start conversations with people because I'm worried I'll be bothering them. And the one who gets told she's intimidating because she uses full sentences and doesn't do LoL, smiley face, all over the place. -shrugs-

I'm following the reading and very, very glad you decided to do that and not me. I feel like that book absolutely deserves to be the center of a bonfire, which is then fed by those awful friggin' movies. :-D

I can't stand people who lol at everything. it's like, really? Are you really laughing out loud that much? because I don't think I'm that funny.

I can't say the book has gotten better. It's kinda plateaued in this "It's not bad but it's not good" state. I'd rather be outraged than bored.

I know the feeling; I've also been thought of as snobby simply because I'm quiet. I figure that if people are going to judge me on first impressions like that, it's really their loss, not mine. It's still frustrating, though.

I'm both introverted and a tad shy/socially awkward in various situations. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't really know the difference. People need to be clued in that, "hey, just because a person is not super-chatty does not mean they are unfriendly." People like to judge on the superficials, though.

Well. That was a little rambly. Anyways, it's vevery refreshing to know Jesus loves all of us just the way He created us. I'm reading "Eat, Pray,Love," and the author talks about how she eventually came to terms that she would never be the quiet girl she always wanted to be, that that's just not her personality, so I guess it goes both ways...

Yes, pretty much everything you said I agree with. It really is their loss.
