Yeah, that's a good approximation of the look on my face before going to bed last night.
And thanks for sharing the Six Feet Under clip. I never did see the last season, and I was always curious as to how it ended. That was a great way to end a series.
Watching this episode was like listening to a favorite piece of music being played slightly out of tune. There was definitely some grimacing.
I love the end of SFU. It's just very true to what the show was about, a celebration of life and love, coupled with an elegiac acceptance of mortality. It's my gold standard for series finales. :)
Yup. You hit the nail on the head. This episode WAS just a bunch of semi-coherent nonsense tossed together. Grrrrrrrr. I just cannot believe this is the same show that gave us "33" or "By Kobol's Last Gleaming Parts 1 and 2".
I saw your gif before watching the episode. And I thought it couldn't possibly be that lame. But that was possibly the worst series finale I've ever seen. Well, maybe Roseanne's was worse.
Unfortunately, it was that lame. I debated whether or not to put the gif behind a cut, but in the end I was just too annoyed and wanted to display my displeasure.
Roseanne's finale was where the whole rest of the last season turned out to be a dream and someone died, right? It was so WTF. I think I was upset by it as a child.
Don't worry, I don't think the gif counts as a spoiler.
Yeah, it was that one. But not only was it a dream and Dan had died the previous year, but it turned out that Darlene had actually been with Becky's husband and Becky with Darlene's all along. For no reason whatsoever. And Jackie was actually a lesbian. Again, for no reason. This was all revealed in the final voiceover. Terrible.
