I broke down and bought yarn

I went and bought some yarn today (First purchase in awhile). I am going to make the hat on this issue of Knitty. That really cute pink and red one. I of course am not making mine those colors. I got some lovely grey and white. Me, use colors? Never. This will be first real attempt with two colors and with a chart. I really feel like it should be ( Read more... )

I knit that hat a few weeks ago! In light blue and white; its super cozy since you use two strands tog. And a very easy first colorwork project, imo!

It was easy and quick. I actually finished it last night. Of course, I did manage to add a few rows accidentally so it is a bit long. Too long for my head but should be fine for the hubby. I am really glad I made it in grey and white. Not too girly.

Hee Hee! Are you another candidate for noyarnforayear?

As for the Neti, I've never used one of those per say, but you can get cans here that do the same thing. You hold one side closed and rinse the other. It goes all the way into your sinuses. It is supposed to be helpful with infections and general "nose" health. I use it when I have colds, dry nasal passages or just think my nose could do with a rinse. Let me know how it works for you. It's probably less expensive then buying the canned stuff.

NO! I am in need of yarn! My husband told me I had to wait until I was halfway through the stash before buying more, but really, all that does is make me have to knit stuff I don't want to. Although, I did finally use up some of it with a bunch of One Skein projects.

I used the Neti pot last night and all went well. It did help me to sleep last night without feeling I was drowning in my own mucous. :)

Only halfway? That's practically cheating!

Do you have that One Skein book and if so, is it good?

About the neti pot, I never managed to do that either. I frankly didn't know it was possible. Either my sinuses are that blocked, or I've only got one. And yay for good sleeping. Hopefully it will do for you what so many of them promise it will.

I like it. It has some really cute projects (including knit cupcakes!) for knitting and crochet. There is another book, One Skein Wonders, that also has alot of really good projects.

And because I've been bored at work all day, I did some research on the neti pot and came up with this to amuse you:

Awesome! Thanks.

I must say, I like my Neti Pot much better. Its ceramic and blue and not so utilitarian looking.

Will use it again tonight and see if I can get that "steady stream" because I don't think that really ever happened last night.
