A couple weeks ago, I was sitting around the CMS Great Hall dining room table with a bunch of CMS folks, talking about this and that. At some point I mentioned in passing that I had gotten a TAship with about 45 students, or 3 sections. Yay! Best of all, I bet now you can blow off some of your Iter hours. You'll have to see, but I bet you can, and that would mean you won't get another one. That's the best news of all.

Not getting another one would be SO GREAT I can't even begin to tell you. I may try to work off all the hours this year anyway, cause I could sure use the funds, and I'm also not totally certain how it would work out if I didn't (even with the TAship). We'll see :)

Thank you! It is a good number, though I have to admit that right now I'm pretty much scared out of my pants. Hopefully that'll change after my first round of tutorials Thurs, but I always get freaked out at the prospect of facing a roomful of students who expect me to know what I'm talking about.

The course is on early modern Europe, 1450-1648. The tutorials are focused on primary source materials, so I'll be leading discussion and (hopefully) picking apart primary sources. I love doing it, but at the same time it scares me to death because I'm always afraid I'll get questions on stuff I know nothing about, plus I'm pretty awful at remembering facts and keeping discussion flowing, both of which I need to be ready to do. Ah well, it'll be ok, like I was saying, I just need to get through the my first tutorials and then I'll be fine.
