Garb

As we are getting back into SCA stuff, David and I have been searching through the boxes we have left (there are many!) for our medieval/renaissance garb. We've found most of it, I think. What I have come to realize is that we are in desperate need of more garb. Now I know that I always want new things to wear ;-) but seriously... we need garb.

Some of us starting learning how to make women's cotehardies this weekend by pinning (sans pattern), you're certainly welcome to join us if you ever get the chance to come down when we're sewing!

I was lucky enough to attend one of Robin Netherton's hands-on workshops on constructing her Gothic Fitted Dress so I basically know how to drape one without a pattern. Well... in theory. ;-) I just need to grow a new set of arms so that I can pin myself.

I'm sorry I missed the sewing night. It sounded like fun, but I haven't been well the last week. In fact, I am going down to London tomorrow morning for a doctor's appt so I hope to be back to normal soon and able to join in the sewing circle.

It's not too urgent anyway as it doesn't look like I have to have garb done that soon. Except for the monthly revel, I don't think we are attending a "garb needed" event until Crown in October. We decided against doing Raglan this year. We have too much going on right now to get everything organized plus we don't want to put our dogs in the kennel so soon after getting here. They were without us for 5 months and just got here on June 28. They are still a little insecure.

Oh and welcome to my friends list. :)
