And I've always loved Joyce and I thought that she would have been more active in Buffy's life after season three than canon wrote her. If she can hit Spike over the head with an axe before knowing about vamps, I think she would have been pretty vocal on other subjects too...
Well since I'm out of a job and no school atm, I think I'll be spending a lot of time with this story as long as my muse cooperates, so hopefully I'll have a new chapter to send over soon.

Nice tension at the lab. Great moment with Buffy being practical and Spike being ... well ... Spike as we know him. Good plan too as they had written him off as a viable threat.
Glad Joyce was there at Giles' home and able to make sure they all acted sensibly. Willow was a treat too. I think that at that point in canon she WOULD have helped Spike and not been automatically against him. Nice introduction of Tara to the group too.
Loving this story in all respects.

I'm so happy Spike is believable in what he decided to do. Though he's a survivor through and through and Buffy would have been a good ally in that situation.
I figured Willow would help Spike, especially as she developed feelings for Tara and felt uneasy about her own position before coming out. She was overly accepting of Riley in canon, so I figured she would be tentatively supportive towards Spike.
Thanks so much for the lovely review!
