Chapter Two

“Slayer?” Spike moved warily toward the left-hand side of his cell, opposite to his irritating fledgling neighbor. The bitch was close enough to have heard the whole conversation, probably laughing over how she finally caught William the Bloody. Well, he sure as fuck wouldn’t go down without a fight.

Sorry my first review wasn't verbose, I read it last night when I was very tired. I'm very happy you posted the second chapter and I'm super happy you are writing this story. The possibilities are fascinating. Going to read this chapter now, will comment again after :)

I'm actually surprised at how well received the story has been... the idea was rolling around in my head for a while and I just started writing on idly, not really getting into it but once I did I sent it to Dusty to see what she'd say... and well, now I'm posting it. Tis quite exciting indeed. Enjoy the chapter :)

Poor Buffy. I really like this, and the moral ambiguities Riley has to go through even more so than he had to do on the show. Can't wait for next chapter.

Thanks! I am writing Riley really differently in this story because even though he wasn't my favourite character, I think that there was some potential for good, even without Buffy guiding him. He won't be a knight-in-shining-armor by any means, but I think he has potential in some small ways.

I hope to post soon, but my parents are coming into town tomorrow, so a couple of days before I do.

I love that icon to pieces. I like BIG SHINY weapons!
I tend not to write Riley cause I don't like character bashing unless it's for comedic effect. Like making him the actual President of the Lesbian Alliance. :D

But I'm really glad you are exploring this part of him. Enjoy your parents time and ignore any nagging :P

WOW I'm loving this. I am really drawn to Initiative fics and can't really remember one quite like this. I can easily believe they would make a truce and help one another under the circumstances (even if Spike hasn't figured out what Dru meant when she kicked him to the curb).

Chilling but believable that they would assume Buffy was not human. Disgusting that they think that gives license to do what they will to sentient creatures...but that is how they were on the show too.

Interesting the coven refer to Spike as a friend (*snort*...Giles would have a cow). Willow best watch out as I imagine magic would draw a target on her as well.

Excellent.

Thanks! I think that in the situation, they would have made a truce, just taking into the Angelus situation which was arguable less stressful than being lab rats together. Spike hasn't really had a lot of time to think beyond survival yet, but once that mind gets going, who knows what he'll discover.

And I thought the Initiative had the potential to be one of the more vicious organizations just because of the attitude they held. Demons were less than animals to them arguably as we haven't (yet) tried (too much anyways) brain controlling research on them. And demons are more sentient than a rat. The group Riley is a part of later seems less experimentally inclined though.

Thanks again for reviewing!

She's evil. More evil than many and I've already been asked to give her a long, painful and bloody death ;)

And you're making me blush with all your compliments, woman! I'm still amazed people like this story, I thought it was just a silly idea at the beginning so now I'm nervous to let people down *sigh* Oh well, more effort is needed I suppose :D

And yeah, Spike and Buffy are going to kick some Initiative bums *grins*

LOL! I couldn't think of a better number than unlucky (or maybe lucky) 13 for Buffy... There's power in numbers whether Maggie Walsh knows it or not
