First let me say I'm extremely relieved she's well. Poor little dog. Since the liver surgery, she's not been quite the same--cognitively or behaviorally. I love her as I always have, but it is true

I would think she could have passed it, but I well understand the panic factor. Poor pup. Maybe you ought to consider trimming the hair instead of banding it? You could give her a punk haircut! Now, that's the ticket. You could shave her sides and leave a mohawk down her back. No more brushing, unless you really want to do the mohawk part.

You're right. She probably would have passed it. But there was always the possibility she wouldn't, causing a blockage. Not likely, but--as you pointed out--the panic factor was definitely in play. Besides, I figured it would be better for her to simply spend a few unpleasant minutes at the vet to be certain it came out than to undergo surgery if it didn't. In situations such as these, you just try to do the best you can. *shakes head

I don't know. I think--except for the being forced to vomit part--I was the one feeling the most trauma. She swallowed the thing so fast, I don't believe she ever realized it was anything unusual. LOL
