Adora made every plan she could think of for her first anniversary with El'Ari. She'd reserved a table at a very nice restaurant in a very nice part of the city; she bought a new dress, new shoes and two dozen roses. She'd even managed to find roses that were so red, they almost looked purple. And, as purple was Elly's favorite color, she knew they were the ones.
After everything they'd been through the last few years, she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Adora called the restaurant twice - mostly because she'd forgotten that she'd called an hour before - and spent an hour trying to decide between wearing her hair up or down.
To anyone that hadn't known her before, they would never believe that, just one year ago, El'Ari had left Celcia, never to return. They would never know that Adora had hit such a low following El's departure that the blonde woman had tried to take her own life. Well, she succeeded at it, but, to quote a phrase: 'She got better.'
This past year, however, with El'Ari's return, Adora's entire outlook had changed. For the first time, in so very long, she was happy. And, every day, she knew that she was lucky to have a second chance... because Elly didn't have to come back. But Elly did come back.
And Adora had no intention of ever screwing it up again.
